Aloha Fellow Parishioners,

Your Hui O Laulima Ministry will be sponsoring a Thrift Shop/Garage Sale at Saint John's on July 11, 2009 from 9 AM - 2 PM. The purpose of the sale is to generate additional Hui funding to provide food (for perishable food that we cannot send by barge) and gas coupons as well as funds for utility assistance for the needy on Molokai. They need our support now more than ever. Workmen's compensation for those families who lost their jobs last year will terminate in mid-May. The funds we contribute will be coordinated by the Social Ministry at Blessed Damien Catholic Parish to ensure that they are spent well. The Hui does not want to ask our very generous Parishioners for more money, so we thought that a thrift shop/garage sale would be a win-win situation for all. We kindly request your kokua with donations of the following kind:

Clothing
Jewelry
Dishware
Small Toys and Electronic Games
Arts and Crafts Items
Collectable Stamps and Coins
Books
Plants

(Due to our storage space limitations, we are not able to accept any large items including computer equipment, printers, televisions, appliances, or the like.)

Now is a great time to continue your spring cleaning and get rid of a lot of your unused and unwanted items. We will begin accepting your donations at our newly blessed Father Damien Laulima Locker, formerly one of our priests garage parking stalls, on Mondays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 AM beginning on May 25, 2009. In addition, we will also collect items on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 9AM until noon.
