here does not appear to be anything you can assist with. please, pass
this email on to anyone or everyone else who could possibly by the light
of the blue moon help another fellow human being in major health distress.
urgency required! a day is equal to a million minuted counted one by one
to someone who is sick and has no hope. the world can be a very cold and
dark place, please light one candle in your effort to make it better and
brighter for all of us. all it takes is one kind gesture to another soul

we to go? just a thought to pass it on...

Lighthouse Homeless Dinner Serving for August 29th "Give us this day our daily bread" Menu: In keeping with the prayer and theme, "Give us this day our daily bread" we will accept food donations after all three Masses the weekend of Aug 28th/29th on a table set up on the lanai. Whatever we receive at that time will be served at the Lighthouse Homeless Shelter on that Sunday evening. Whatever is left at the end of the day will be donated to either IHS, Lighthouse, or anyone in need so that whatever food we receive that day, will be given away that day. You can donate anything, meats, fresh fruit or vegetables, bread, canned goods, deserts, anything. Preparation: If you wish to help in the preparation of the meal, come to the parish between 4 pm and 5:30 pm on the evening of Sunday, August 29th and help us prepare it. Since we don't know what we will be receiving until that day, it should be quit an adventure.
Serving and transporting: If you wish to help transport the meal
to the Lighthouse Homeless Shelter in Waipahu and serve it, be at the
parish at 5:30 pm on the same evening. If you have any questions, contact Bob Mace at matthew25@clearwire.net. Thank you and God bless |

Hawaii Catholic Charities Mary Jane Program. Bob Mace, Gaylene Colon, and Joyce Urehara went to the Mary Jane Program House today and presented them with the funds we raised in our pre Mother's Day sale. We also gave them $100 worth of diapers. We were given a tour of the house and met some of the girls and their babies that are staying there. Thank you again to all of you who gave your time, money and love for this good and blessed cause.

| Do you know where the food goes that is collected at the side of the altar before mass or during the collection of gifts? It is taken by our parish members to 2 other parish food pantries to be distributed to those in need. Those parishes are Sacred Hearts in Waianae and Our Lady of Good Counsel in Pearl City. Sacred Hearts feeds about 90 families every other week. Our Lady of Good Counsel feeds about 150 families a week. Alice, one of the directors of the OLOGC pantry, told me that they often run out of food and that ROL has been a blessing, saving them many times with our donations. These are just 2 of the many parishes that maintain food and toiletry supplies for the needy in their communities. Although Resurrection of the Lord does not maintain its own food pantry, it is still fulfilling the request of our Lord Jesus Christ to "feed the hungry" by collecting and delivering food to those parishes that do. This is the very essence of our Catholic Social teaching and our faith. |

Ten things we can do for our Lord and the least among us.
1. Serve: Our Lord's time on this earth was all about service.
Service to you and me.
2. Volunteer: Help ROL at our monthly IHS breakfast or monthly
Lighthouse evening meal.
3. Love: To love another person is to see the face of God. Any
service we are involved in must be done as an act of love.
4. Care: If we are truly members of one holy, catholic and apostolic
church in the Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
5. Feed: Bring non-perishable food to mass for gifts to be distributed
to the hungry. Even one can or box is appreciated.
6. Clothe: Give the clothes you no longer wear, but is in good
condition, to organizations that distribute it to the poor.
7. Visit: Do you know any older persons that live alone? Any
one in a hospital or home that no one visits? Visit them.
8. Inspire: Invite your family and friends to join you in service.
Create your own social service projects and get others
9. Vote: Vote for candidates that support Catholic values and
beliefs, like Pro Life. Check out
10. Pray: Pray for our brothers and sisters in need; the homeless,
the hungry, the vulnerable, the sick, the lonely, |
